Community Cohesion

Community cohesion came in to replace cultural diversity, whereby people were free to express their cultural identity within communities without the fear of being marginalised, however this wasn’t the case as it was discovered that this caused the community to be segregated into respective ethnic grouping and that the communities remained not firmly together as they did not embrace each other.

The Community  cohesion model is about changing this and encoring a vision, whereby everyone has a sense of belonging within a community. This model is about people in communities able to value and appreciate others regardless of their difference in backgrounds and circumstances.

Through this model people can have similar life opportunities, develop strong and positive relationships within the workplace, schools and neighbourhoods. Through community cohesion people of different cultural heritage can come together to develop and build communities, provide solutions for problems and the likes.
